My top 10 Health Tips for keeping you healthy, at every age.

I work with many successful business people, leaders of industry, and many are in poor health.

“Consider becoming the CEO of your own bodies, devoting the same passion, power and dedication into understanding your health as you do your successful businesses”

Here are my 10 tips to help you achieve this.

Partner with a Health Care professional or team.

People who you trust, are experienced, credentialed and can guide you and educate you on your journey to good health. This is a relationship of respect for each others time and a mutual goal of improving your health.

Regular Health Monitoring

Keep track of your health metrics, this may involve different Functional lab testing to get to the “root cause” of symptoms that are persisting. Invest the money, the results are yours and priceless if they help prevent disease.

If there are any changes or new symptoms, consult with your healthcare professionals promptly. Get to understand your “why? ”

Know your genetic susceptibility

Consider what diseases are in your family.  By looking at your genetics you can make huge preventative steps so you don’t follow the same path. This doesn’t mean we look at serious genetic diseases like the BRCA gene for breast cancer but rather the metabolic genes that control how you make B12, folate, metabolise fat, make brain chemicals, detoxify.

Make a personalised Healthcare Plan

Work with healthcare professionals to create a personalised healthcare plan based on your clinical presentations and genetic susceptibility. This may include lifestyle modifications, supplements and preventive measures tailored to your specific genetic profile to really support you, uniquely.

Lifestyle Modifications:

Discover the lifestyle changes needed based on your sucepability . For example, if you have a genetic risk for heart disease, you might focus on specifically maintaining a heart-healthy diet, engaging in regular exercise, and learning how you best manage stress. Tidy up your homes.

Get regular Health Check-ups

Schedule regular health check-ups and testing based on your genetic risk factors. Early detection and intervention can significantly improve outcomes for many conditions. Lead by example for your children.

Nutritional Guidance

Seek guidance from your healthcare practitioner to develop a diet plan that aligns with your sensitivities and genetic predispositions. Some variations may influence how your body responds to certain nutrients, and a personalised nutrition plan can optimise your health and resist disease. Ensure you gut is tested, balanced and optimised.

Fitness and Exercise Planning

Contrary to popular belief, there is no one size fits all. I find that sometimes exercise gets too prescriptive and becomes over rated and often daunting, where as movement becomes under rated. Movement is KEY.

Some individuals may be more predisposed to certain types of exercise-related benefits, such as endurance or strength, based on their genetic profile and test results. Try new things, dance, zumba, pickle ball.

Environmental Risk Factors

Consider environmental factors that may interact with your sensitivity and susceptibility. For example, if you have a genetic predisposition to respiratory conditions, minimising exposure to environmental pollutants becomes crucial. For example, do you work in construction ? is your office on a busy road, are you in a factory ? What are you putting on your skin every day ? Some people are very susceptible to certain environmental chemicals and understanding your sensitivity can help you resist disease.

Stay Informed

Stay updated on new research and developments in Health, Nutrition and Genetics . As our understanding advances, new interventions and preventive strategies can be explored.
